I've been everywhere on the web and seen videos of walkthroughs on how to set up the Wii using the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro device. So when I boot up the capture software and switch the INPUT OPTION from HDMI (360's setting) on the software to COMPONENT, it constantly crashes saying the program can no longer respond. I wanna set it up so I can begin recording gameplay and hopefully begin streaming on my Twitch.Tv account soon, but I have a problem. I can switch my TV to my HDMI video setting and see the passthrough from the device to the TV just fine (quality is degraded a little, but that's okay.)ĥ. Anyways, I recently purchased a Roxio Game Capture HD PRO, and it has arrived and have it at hand. With the USB cable plugged into my PC, the device powers on. USB cable runs from the device, to my PC.Ĥ. HDMI cable OUTPUT runs from the device, to the TV/monitor.ģ. Wii component cables run from the console, to the component INPUT on the Roxio device.Ģ. I have Roxio installed, and updated to the latest 1.1 SP update.ġ. It's something I can do, I can stream retro games, but you need an AV to HDMI converter to make it happen.Īnyways, the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro provided me what I really want! HD streaming and recording, and it does better with OBS Studio which I use, too bad it's not capable for OBS classic, but at least it's worth streaming.Okay, so I just got the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro. I use to own the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable before it was struck by lightening. I got an i3 PC and I need something other than record gameplay footage, but to stream as well, so I choose one of the top three capture device. I want to say, people suggested me to get an Elgato and be done with it, but you know how much the Elgato cost? plus look at the specs, if you have a low-end PC, you will have issues. Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned Just be warned you need to provide HDMI cables. ![]() ![]() I would highly recommend purchasing this device on a budget, beats all the off brand chinese junk and its really good for what you get paid $68 for mine thats a steal for this if you find one starting around even $89 dont hesitate to buy it. It encoded in M2TS or MP4, i recommend MP4 for small video sizes and the best looking footage, you can live stream with this device but it is not as good as other capture cards for this task as you need to use their software and its not very good for live streaming but that doesnt matter to me as i dont stream. although I use for most things 1080p if a game runs at 60 fps which on consoles is rare then i use 720p for smaller file sizes anyways.Ībout 30 minutes of a game with a good amount of action on this device is going to run about 2.7-3.5 GB in size which is pretty small that is also at the maximum bitrate that is supported by this device 15mb. Then it proceeded with 'Roxio Game Capture HD Pro has stopped responding. This device outputs in 720P 60 fps, 1080p 30fps and 480p. Then, I switched on the Wii, the sound came through Roxio program for about 3-4 seconds, but no video signal was shown (black screen for capture) and then the Roxio title bar changed to '(Not Responding)' and I got the spinning blue mouse wheel of death. The software is amazing far better than what you get with other devices, of this type, can edit videos in it although if you want to really edit then I would suggest purchasing some good quality video editing software like Cyb erlink Power Director. The only minor annoyance is that you will have to use a separate software to record voice overs when capturing console footage and that a slight audio delay exists due to this being a USB 2.0 device like all other capture cards, you would still have the issue on 3.0 and type c is dead. As you play your console games on your HD TV, you can watch a regular or full screen of your game play being recorded in the Roxio software on your PC. If theres a way to manually set it to 1080p at 30fps, try that. Roxio Game Capture HD PRO includes the Roxio Game CAP HD PRO device which makes it possible to record HD gameplay in 720p and 1080 60i/30p. ![]() Check the PS4 manual for the output video modes it supports. I dont have a PS4, so Im guessing at exactly why its doing that. I have recorded footage for over 10 hours in total since I purchased this device and never got a slowdown or crash at all. My suspicion is that the PS4 doesnt support 1080p at 30fps, so its switching to 1080i at 60fps because thats as high as the Roxio Game Capture supports. Everyone always says that this capture card produces low quality footage or that the software crashes, well I am here to tell you that this would not be the case.
